Why You Need a Garbage Disposal

When you’re washing dishes, it’s inevitable that food is going to be stuck on them. While most of us will push off the large chunks into a trashcan, there are still a lot of things left behind. Thankfully, these things go into the sink and down the drain. However, they actually don’t go down the drain. Your garbage disposal stops these chunks of food and then you have to use the disposal to grind them up until they can go down the drain. If your disposal isn’t working, these chunks of food will sit in your drain for far too long. It will only be a day or so before you realize that your sink is really starting to stink. When that happens, you know that the garbage disposal is no longer working.

What Happened?

A lot of times, garbage disposals break because they are old. The blades get dull and can no longer grind up the food like they are supposed to. This is unfortunate, but not the end of the world.
